Where Dock and Door Requests Are Taken Around Greensboro
Greensboro is the focus of this site. A request for any address is taken by phone, and the provider — not this website — confirms whether it can attend that address, with that equipment, in that operating window. There is no published radius, drive time or coverage list here, because none of those would be true for every provider on every day.

Why the exact address is the first question
The street address, not the postal city, decides several things before anyone is sent:
- Jurisdiction. Which office issues a permit if one is required, and which office performs fire inspections, depends on whether the building sits inside Greensboro or High Point city limits, in unincorporated Guilford County, in a town under a county agreement, or on airport authority property.
- Access. Gate procedures, dock-office check-in, security escorts, badge requirements and the hours a contractor can be on site change the visit before a tool is unpacked.
- The equipment at that bay. Bay 3 may be a hydraulic leveler under a sectional door; bay 12 may be an edge-of-dock unit under a rolling steel door with a restraint. The provider needs to know which one.
- The operating window. A bay that can be released at 2 p.m. is a different request from a bay that can only be worked between shifts.
- Current provider capacity. Whether a provider can take the job at that address on that day is a fact only the provider can confirm.
Which office covers your building?
Greensboro and High Point each run their own building and fire inspection offices. Guilford County Inspections covers unincorporated areas and its listed contract jurisdictions, and the county Fire Marshal describes its commercial fire-inspection jurisdiction as excluding the two cities. Guilford County's permit guidance specifically requires development clearance from Jamestown, Oak Ridge, Sedalia, Summerfield, Whitsett or the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority, as applicable, before applying for a county permit. A county building permit and the relevant local clearance are not the same step. 7
The jurisdiction table identifies building and fire offices, not a contractor's service territory. Being in an office's jurisdiction does not establish that a provider can take your job.

Greensboro is primary. High Point, Jamestown, Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Stokesdale, Summerfield and Whitsett appear above because the homepage’s jurisdiction records already establish which offices answer for them — not because any provider has been verified to cover them. A facility at one of those addresses, or on Piedmont Triad Airport Authority property, can call and ask whether its address and equipment fit the accepting provider. The same is true for a facility outside Guilford County. The answer comes from the provider, and it can be no.
Postal city, municipal limits, county, airport authority and a contractor’s territory are five different things. A Greensboro mailing address can sit outside city limits; a town near a county line can extend into another county. When the call happens, give the street address and, if known, the county tax jurisdiction shown on the property record.
